Peytyn Willborn a visionary entrepreneur, and dedicated community advocate, has devoted her life to making a positive impact on individuals in at-risk communities. Raised in Altgeld Gardens and Auburn Gresham on Chicago’s Southside, Peytyn’s journey is deeply rooted in a profound commitment to breaking cycles of adversity and
fostering resilience.

Growing up in a single-parent household, her mother Carolyn Campbell’s love and sacrifices instilled in Peytyn a strong sense of community and service. Childhood
experiences in poverty fueled her determination to make a difference.

With a 32-year career in cosmetology, Peytyn not only owned a successful salon but also served as a celebrity hairstylist. Beyond the salon, she offered free hairstyles to
low-income clients, recognizing the transformative power of self-esteem. Pioneering the first 24/7 daycare in Chicago for 17 years marked the beginning of her community
leadership, advocating for parents and addressing gaps in community resources.

Peytyn’s commitment to education expanded with mentorship and resources for local schools, guided by the “Each One Teach One” philosophy. Owning Truth Italian
Restaurant for nine years fulfilled another dream, reflecting her vision of offering world-class Italian cuisine at affordable prices. Since 1984, Peytyn’s vegetarian lifestyle has aligned with her goal of promoting healthy eating habits, addressing mental health challenges connected to violence, and tackling health issues.

Honored with The Chicago Defender’s “Women of Excellence Award” in 2021 and the “Empire Entrepreneur Award” from CineCares Foundation in 2015, Peytyn’s dedication extends to serving as a restaurant partner for St. Jude Dreams Chicago for over three years. The passing of her parents prompted her to refocus on leaving a legacy for her children and grandchildren by providing services that assist struggling families.

GEORGE WILLBORN III
Chief Program Officer

George Willborn III is a proud native of Bronzeville, having spent his formative years on the vibrant South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Widely recognized for his drive and leadership qualities, George is viewed as a prominent figure among his peers. His leadership journey began during his high school years at De La Salle Institute, where he discovered his natural ability to lead and developed a passion for connecting with people. This realization set the stage for his future endeavors.

George began his college education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he spent two formative years. He later transferred to the University of California, Riverside, where he completed his college career and earned his bachelor’s degree. Throughout his diverse academic experiences, George cultivated valuable qualities such as responsibility, leadership, and a strong sense of community.

After graduating from college, George embraced entrepreneurship and stepped into the role of General Manager at Truth Restaurant, a nationally recognized establishment in Chicago. With six years of customer-service experience, George brings extensive knowledge, a proven record of organizational success, and a commitment to fostering positive work environments.

Passionate about creating meaningful change, George is driven by a desire to make a lasting impact within his profession and community. His active involvement in neighborhood initiatives, partnerships with local organizations, and dedication to social responsibility demonstrate his commitment to giving back and improving the lives of others.

In his role as Chief Program Officer of Quality Life Agriculture & Culinary Academy NFP, George extends his impact by helping develop programs that promote agricultural education, culinary training, workforce development, community wellness, and access to fresh, nutritious food. He firmly believes that organizations and businesses have a responsibility to positively influence the communities they serve. George Willborn III’s commitment to social impact and community building continues to leave a lasting mark both within and beyond the workplace.

TEARA HILL
Secretary

Teara Hill is an experienced administrator with a passion for helping others and making a positive difference in the lives of the people around her. She’s naturally outgoing, compassionate, and known for bringing a bubbly and positive personality.

Teara believes in treating people with kindness, being dependable, and lending a helping hand whenever she can. She’s also an animal lover, which reflects the caring and nurturing side of who she is. Teara is proud to bring her administrative experience, positive energy, and commitment to others to the Quality Life Agriculture and Culinary Academy NFP Board.

RODNEY MCGILL
Treasurer

Rodney McGill is an experienced professional with a background in information technology and security. His work has strengthened his ability to think critically, solve problems, protect important information, and approach responsibilities with attention to detail and accountability.

Rodney values reliability, integrity, and helping others feel safe and supported.
